Light Tank Spotting Guide (2026)

Learn consistent scouting that wins games: vision mechanics, map openers, bush play, active sweeps, and economy management so you convert spots into assisted damage.

Vision & Camo Basics

View range and concealment determine who spots first. Stack Optics/Vents, use food and situational awareness, and remember moving reduces camo while firing drops it to near-zero unless double-bushed.

CVS counters enemy concealment behind vegetation and is extremely strong on Prokhorovka, Malinovka, and Fisherman's Bay. Low-noise exhaust boosts bush play for passive scouts.

Passive Spotting Openers

  • Prokhorovka: middle rails bush; rotate to 1/2-line when arty pressure is high.
  • Malinovka: hill-bush shadow or K-line dip; avoid skyline silhouette.
  • Fisherman's Bay: mid bushes near center houses; slip away after first sweep.
  • Redshire: center ridge bushes; fall back when TD lines are unknown.

If your team has few guns on supporting lanes, spot shorter distances to avoid lighting enemies outside friendly firing arcs.

Active Sweeps & Rotations

Sweep ridgelines in S-curves, break line-of-sight every few seconds, and never crest into unlit guns. Use turbo to reposition and bait shots before allies peek.

After first spots, rotate to collapse flanks or deny enemy scouts their bushes. Time your runs with ally reloads to maximize assisted damage.

Equipment & Crew

  • Equipment: Optics/CVS, Vents, Turbo; Exhaust for passive kits.
  • Crew: Brothers in Arms, Recon, Situational Awareness, Camo; Off-Road Driving.
  • Field Mods: prioritize view range, aiming stability, and mobility.

Double-Bush & Firing Discipline

Line up two bushes between you and target, back up 15m until both are opaque. Fire, then roll back into the bush to re-establish concealment before enemies can spot you.

Proxy Spotting, Radio Range & Safety

Proxy spotting lights enemies within 50m regardless of bushes; use it to hold corners safely while allies farm. Maintain radio range with your team so assisted damage is credited—avoid deep flanks when guns can't shoot what you light.

Never hold a bush that doesn't point at allied guns. If your support rotates, reposition to keep their line of fire aligned with your spots.

Map Pack: Safe Light Routes

  • Murovanka: magic forest edge—stay on the outer bushes to avoid blindfire.
  • Steppes: mid ridges with S-curve sweeps; break LOS behind dune shadows.
  • Sand River: riverbed bushes; rotate to 1/2 or 9/0 flanks after first spots.
  • Westfield: valley entry bushes; avoid skyline at mid to prevent instant lights.

Adapt opener length to lineup: heavy TD counts require shorter peeks and quicker resets.

Drills & Review

Run training room laps: (1) passive bush placement without silhouette, (2) S-curve ridge sweeps, (3) double-bush timing. Save replays and track assisted damage per opener to refine map plans.

Create a replay checklist: opener picked, first contact time, assisted damage by 3 minutes, rotations executed, and deaths avoided due to unlit guns. Aim for consistent 2k+ assisted in tier 8–10 before pushing risk.
